Check out where the 10 most commonly-found eggcases wash up around the UK and Ireland, and how your information could help identify critically important nursery grounds for sharks, skates and rays! Attention All Divers: Have you seen an underwater eggcase?
If you're spending time underwater this summer why not keep an eye out for underwater eggcases! Never easy to spot - often camoflagued with seaweed, sand and gravel - the presence of underwater, in-situ eggcases can be indicative of a nursery area for sharks, skates and rays. If you're lucky - and eagle-eyed - enough to spot an underwater eggcase, please submit all the details to the Shark Trust - including any photos. Find out MORE...IMPORTANT: Please don't disturb underwater eggcases - they contain a live shark, skate or ray which may have been incubating for up to 12 months!
